The construction toy you print yourself

STEMFIE is a free, open-source construction set for the age of home 3D printing. Thousands of parts that all fit together, made on your own printer, whenever you want them.

One standard. Every part fits.

Print what you need

Beams, braces, plates, gears, wheels, screws, and nuts: thousands of parts, free to download as 3D-printable files. As long as there is filament on the spool, the toy box is never empty.

Build what you imagine

Every part is designed on the STEMFIE Grid, so anything you print connects to anything you print later. The more parts you have, the bigger the build.

The STEMFIE Standard

Learn by building

Kits turn parts into projects: a rubber-band car, a catapult, a gear train. Some come with a teacher's guide and worksheet for the classroom.

Made to travel

STEMFIE was created by Paulo Kiefe, co-creator of 3DBenchy, after watching one small boat file get printed all over the world. The idea: a construction toy whose parts travel the same way, from one child to the next, without borders, shops, or shipping.

The whole system is open source. The Standard, every part, and the tools are a gift to children, schools, and makers everywhere.

The story behind STEMFIE

Free, and staying free

The STEMFIE Standard and every individual STEMFIE part are free to download, and always will be. No account, no catch. Some curriculum material and premium kits may carry a price; every purchase funds the development of the free system.

STEMFIE is free to download, but not free to develop. See how you can help it grow.

⚠️ Contains small parts that are a choking hazard. Not suitable for children under 3. Suitable for ages 3 and up under adult supervision.
