The STEMFIE 3D-printable construction set has been in the prototyping stage for almost three years, using several different CAD programs for its conceptualization and design tests.
As this project aims to provide a free educational STEM toy – which anyone can download and produce on a 3D printer – it is only natural to evolve to open-sourced design tools.
From today and onwards, STEMFIE will be developed using the FreeCAD 3D-modelling software! You can expect future downloadable source files, and feel free to adapt them and make your unique parts compatible with the STEMFIE construction set standard.
FreeCAD is available for Linux, Mac OS, and Windows. You can download it at FreeCADweb.org and talk with FreeCAD users.
