What your support pays for

STEMFIE is free to download, but not free to develop. Behind every part is design time in CAD, test prints, photography, documentation, and the servers that hand out thousands of files a day. Support goes straight into that work: new parts and component families, new kits with instructions, teaching material for schools, and the hosting that keeps everything online and free. There is no company behind STEMFIE, no investors, and no advertising; it is funded by the people who use it.

That is not a weakness of the model; it is the model. STEMFIE is a community-sponsored project, and the community is not an abstraction: it is the teacher who prints a class set, the parent who builds a toy crane with their child on a Sunday, the maker who finds a part that doesn't fit and says so. A few euros or dollars a month from a few of those people is what pays for the next component family. No single contribution is large, and none is too small to matter; together they are the only budget the project has ever had. If STEMFIE has given you or your children an afternoon of building, you already belong here. Supporting it is how you help the next family get theirs.

Bambu Lab: kits with the hardware included

In collaboration with Bambu Lab, you can buy STEMFIE kits that include the parts you cannot print: electronics, springs, fasteners, and other hardware from the Maker's Supply range, a growing collection of components chosen to go with what you make on your printer. The printable parts stay free, as always.

If you buy a STEMFIE kit, a printer, or any other Bambu Lab product through the link below, you pay the normal price and STEMFIE receives a share of the sale. It is one of the simplest ways to support the project.

On MakerWorld, every STEMFIE kit with Maker's Supply hardware can be ordered in one go from the STEMFIE profile. Following the profile, and boosting or printing the models there, also counts: MakerWorld rewards it with points that turn into real support for the project.

For schools, companies, and organizations

If your organization wants to bring STEMFIE into classrooms, sponsor a component family or a kit, list itself as a Manufacturing Partner, or donate materials or services, write to paulo@stemfie.org. Sponsors are recognized on stemfie.org, and the license page explains how commercial manufacturing and the STEMFIE brand work together.

Other ways to help

Not everything that helps costs money. Print a STEMFIE kit and give it to a child as a gift; a toy that arrives in someone's hands is the best advertisement the project has ever had. Print STEMFIE for a school or a library. Share your builds and tag them #Stemfie3D, or mention @Stemfie3D. Report a part that does not fit, or design one that is missing. Tell a teacher. Every one of these has grown the project more than any single donation.

⚠️ Contains small parts that are a choking hazard. Not suitable for children under 3. Suitable for ages 3 and up under adult supervision.
